May 6, 2008 - DDR World Record Event - May 19th, 2008 - Nokia Theater - PMG
I've received word from Fox Broadcasting that they are planning on breaking the Guinness World Record for the most people playing DDR at a single time in one place to be entered in the Guinness Book of World Records: Gamer’s Edition. This event is to help promote the season premiere of “So You Think You Can Dance." On Monday, May 19th, 2008, we need people to gather at the Nokia Theater (across from the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles) to participate in this event. Registration for the event begins at 3:00pm. If you guys can make it down, please post here so I can follow up with the gentlemen over at Fox on how many people they can expect on our end. (Participants must be 18 years of age or older.) Please spread the word around because we all want this to be as successful an event as possible.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Apr 17, 2008 - Konami opens US DDR SuperNOVA 2 site, releases unlock code! - IHYD.JJK
Big news! Today marked the unveiling of Konami's official website for the US arcade version of Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA 2. The website is largely the same as the Japanese one, but with updated information to reflect the current state of the game.

However, the REAL shocker of this site is the posting of an unlock code for SuperNOVA 2 machines, regardless of whether they are hooked up to the e-AMUSEMENT network or not! The first code has now been released, which unlocks the songs "Moonster" and "Sunkiss Drop," the Nonstop course "A Midtown Night's Dream," and the Challenge course "jun."

Apr 16, 2008 - A Konami-organized national DDR tournament in the works? - IHYD.JJK
A thread has appeared on Konami's DDR Community website discussing Konami's current interest in holding a DDR tournament on a national scale. While nothing is concrete yet, at least one Konami employee has informed us that Konami is "in the process" of putting one together.

Anyone that is interested in attending such a tournament, either as a spectator or an entrant, is strongly urged to voice their opinion in the thread. Konami keeps a very close eye over their DDR Community website, and a national tournament is very likely to happen if enough DDR fans demand one.

Another official Konami survey has appeared through Arcade Future, this time asking where the Dance Dance Revolution series should go next. Specifically, this survey asks players what they want to see added to the series, what they want to see changed with the series, and whether or not they would be interested in seeing a DDR release on the Playstation 3. This is a prime opportunity to impact the future of the DDR franchise, so be sure to fill out the survey and tell Konami what you want!
